Rondarius Gregory ran for 161 yards and 2 TD’s, and caught 8 passes for 101 yards and another touchdown to lead M State to a 42-35 win over Vermilion on Saturday in Ely. The Spartans finished the game with 480 yards of total offense with 291 passing yards and 189 yards on the ground.
Brad Young completed 21-of-34 passes for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns on the day and Nate Hayden was 5-for-10 for 96 yards and one score. Frederick Brown caught 5 passes for 45 yards and Jonathan Griffin had 4 catches for 65 yards. Rick Groce and Isaac Freitag both hauled in touchdown passes for the Spartans.
Leaders for Vermilion were Keith Baker (15 completions, 33 attempts, 177 yards), Adatejan Scott (6 receptions, 88 yards) and Jeremy Richardson (12 carries, 40 yards, 1 catch, 17 yards).
M State improved to 3-1 with the win. They will host Mesabi Range at 1:30pm Saturday in Fergus Falls.
