Lady Spartans Stay Unbeaten in MCAC with Win Over Western Tech

The M State volleyball team remained unbeaten in MCAC play at 4-0 with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-15) victory over Western Tech from LaCrosse, Wisconsin on Saturday.

The lady Spartans were shorthanded, missing setter Kaia Strom, Jayna Gronewold, Darian Booker and Laci StromAvery Wanner stepped up at the setter position, distributing 31 assists.  She also had 3 ace serves, 12 digs and 5 kills.  Anya Maack led the attack at the net with 9 kills, a solo block and a block assist.  Alaina Anderson had 8 kills and 3 solo blocks, Brooke Hovland finished with 8 kills and a solo block, and Emily Condon contributed 7 kills.  Emily Dehler came through with 5 kills.

Defensively, Baily Marty had a team high 24 digs and Mackenzie Foss added 13.  April Schridde delivered a pair of service aces and Marty also had an ace.

Alyssa Ottum led the Cavaliers with 10 kills and Jordyn Holman added 7 kills.

The lady Spartans will host St. Cloud Technical College at 6:30pm Wednesday at M State.  Both teams are unbeaten in MCAC play.
