“The girls had a fantastic day, first off with the JV girls taking home the team title putting 5 girls in the top 10,” reported Perham Head Coach Jeff Morris. “This was the first JV team title at the Lucky Lindy. The varsity girls had a great day finishing 4th overall as a team edging out Staples on the tiebreaker while Alexandria took home the team title. Leading the way for the girls was the 1, 2 punch of Gracie Morris and Quincy Anderson. Both these girls are doing a fantastic job establishing our team at the front of the pack and it sets the tone for the rest of the team. Leelou Novotny, Liz Birkeland, and Kaia Starzl rounded out the top 5. Lauryn Rustad had a gutsy race and with her finish broke the tie with our team and Staples. Aspen Rohde came in 7th position for the Jackets.”

On the boys’ side the Yellowjackets were down one of their top 3 runners due to illness, but still competed well in a fantastic field with great competition.  Perham was led by Jakob McCleary, who was the overall race winner with a time of 16:28.  “The conditions were very muggy and with the added wind the times were a little on the slower side for the entire field,” noted Morris.  Rounding out the top 5 runners for Perham were Caden Doll, Micah Thompson, Carter Flatau and eighth-grader Dylan Guck.  Blake Swenson and Brayden Glorvigen came in sixth and seventh on the team.
