Otter Girls Play to 2-2 Tie for Second Straight Night

For the second straight night the Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team settled for a 2-2 tie.  On Tuesday night the tie was with Sauk Rapids-Rice.

Tyra Skjeret scored from in tight with an assist from Piper Andrews with eleven minutes left in the first half as the Otters took a 1-0 lead.

The Storm scored with 37 minutes left in the game to tie the score at 1-1.  Skjeret then scored her second goal of the night with an assist going to Piper Andrews, giving Fergus Falls a 2-1 advantage.  Sauk Rapids-Rice scored on a challenged breakaway with one minute left to tie the game.

The two teams were scoreless in overtime and the game ended in a tie.

“The girls played so hard tonight,” stated Head Coach Ben Jurgens of the Otters.  “After a long overtime game last night against Tech, to come back and play the next night is really tough.  Maddie Hulter played a fantastic game at left defense.  Her aggressiveness was really impressive and her ability to jump into the offensive end and runs were really impressive.”

The Otters are back at it on Thursday with a home game against Sartell.
