The Alexandria Boys Soccer team travelled down I-94 to take on the Sartell Sabres this past Monday evening. The match was well played by both teams, each adjusting to play styles throughout the match. The match ended in a scoreless tie.

The Cardinals struggled to find their rhythm as they started the first half. Passing was off pace and positional play was not being finished. Despite the slow start, the Cardinals were able to keep the Sabres from taking no more than 2 shots at the net. Unfortunately, the Cardinals were unable to finish any of their shots as well.

Entering the second half, the Cardinals slid into the team they have become this year. Working Together for the greater good. Passing improved, shots improved, and possession improved. Overall, the play in the 40th-60th minutes of play was beautiful. The Cardinals did well but were unable to find a goal even while entering into overtime play.

The Gatorade of the Game goes to Cole Haabala for playing tough all game and making the runs he needed to do in order to keep the team's possession high.

The Alexandria Cardinals are now 5-0-1 on the season and look to host WIllmar Cardinals on Tuesday night with a 7pm kick off.
