Fergus Falls traveled to Cold Spring on Tuesday for a girls’ soccer match against the Rocori Spartans.  The Otters were able to return home with a 5-2 road win.

Hope Goepferd started the scoring a minute into the game as she received a pass from Tyra Skjeret at the top of the 18, turned and ripped it past the keeper.  Ten minutes later Skjeret received a pass from Madi Budke at almost the same spot as Goepferd and Skjeret pounded it into the back of the net for a 2-0 Fergus Falls lead.  With five minutes remaining in the first half Skjeret received a pass from Piper Andrews that she placed into the back of the net for the third goal of the night.

In the second half, with twelve minutes remaining, Piper Andrews laid a pass right on the foot of Skjeret to fill in the hat trick.  To cap the scoring for the night Andrews stole the ball from the Rocori defender and beat the goalie to put the game away.

“We played hard tonight, you can tell the things we are trying to teach the kids is starting to make some sense and hopefully as the year goes on it gets better and better,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.

The Otters next game is Thursday night at 7:00pm in Moorhead.
