The M State volleyball team had a successful weekend trip to the Twin Cities, beating Anoka-Ramsey 3-0 on Friday night and Century College 3-2 on Saturday.

“We were happy to be able to get back-to-back wins while traveling because it was our first road trip of the season,” said head volleyball coach Abby Crowser. “We struggled a little bit offensively on Saturday against Century, but were able to pull it together when it mattered most to win the match in 5 sets. We are going to focus on being more consistent with our hitting this week to prepare for our upcoming tournament in Rochester.”

The lady Spartans won the first two sets against Century, 25-12, 25-11, then lost 225-18 and 25-23 before earning the win with a 15-7 victory in the fifth set.  Statistical leaders were Condon (24/24 serving, 17 digs, 5 kills, 2 blocks), Gronewold (22/22, 1 ace, 9 kills, 1 block, 16 digs), Marty (22/23, 3 aces, 33 digs), Anya Maack (7 kills, 4 blocks), Hovland (21 kills, 2 blocks) and Strom (12/13, 1 ace, 37 set assists, 17 digs, 1 block, 4 kills).
