Bertha-Hewitt opened up an early 14-0 lead in Rothsay on Friday and the Bears went on to post a 22-20 win over the Tigers in the high school football opener for both teams.
“Getting down early and missed opportunities hurt us in this game,” said Rothsay Head Coach Joel Meyer. “We battled back with a couple of long TD passes from senior quarterback Tanner Heier, but fell short. I thought we moved the ball well throw the air and played good defense after the first five minutes of the game.”
