Ashby hosted Hancock in their high school volleyball opener on Tuesday night and the Owls prevailed in four sets, 20-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-12.

“We started out strong and communicating so well, but crucial missed serves and trouble serve receiving caused a break in that in the second and third games,” commented Ashby Head Coach Hayley Stevens. “With 85% serving we will continue to work on consistency and communication. When passes were up the ladies were clicking and moving. Keeping that going even when mistakes happen is where we will focus on the next practices.”

Leaders for the Arrows were Catherine Koefod (9/10 serving, 1 ace, 8 assists, 4 digs), Celi Nelson (9/10 serving, 8 kills, 9 digs), Haleigh Brendmoen (7/7 serving, 1 ace, 4 assists, 10 digs), Kaylee Schlundt (1 kill, 1 block), Kyra Aamot (3/5 serving, 1 ace, 2 digs), Lucy Ohren (8/9 serving, 1 ace, 3 digs), Ryleigh Brendmoen (16/20 serving, 4 aces, 4 kills, 1 assist, 18 digs) and Livy Johnson (2 kills, 1 block).

The Arrows will host CGB on Thursday.   Hancock will host Ortonville in the Owls home opener on Thursday, September 9.
