Alexandria opened up their boys’ soccer season with a convincing 4-0 win over Detroit Lakes on the Cardinals home turf.  The Cardinals showed their team speed and passing prowess in the shutout victory.

Jack Carlson was assisted by Thomas Klecker as the Cardinals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first minute of play.  Myles Sansted then found a weak spot in the DL defense and scored a pair of goals that each found the top right corner of the net.  Alex Greseth and Klecker earned assists on the goals as the Cardinals took a 3-0 halftime advantage.

The final goal of the game was scored in the 44th minute of play by Jack Carlson, assisted by Holden Hansen.

The Cardinals begin Central Lakes Conference play Tuesday night with a 7:00pm road contest in Fergus Falls.
