The Second Annual Brave Like Gabe Cross Country Meet was held in Perham on Saturday.  The Perham girls placed third in the varsity race with 122 points.  Moorhead was first with 61 and Fargo North second with 90.  The Yellowjackets were eighth in the boys’ varsity race with 225 points.  West Fargo (66), Bemidji (76) and Fargo North (99) finished 1-2-3.

“Super excited to honor Gabriele Gruenwald and the Brave Like Gabe Foundation,” said Perham Head Coach Jeff Morris. “Teams warming up 1405 (Gabriele's favorite number) and hashtagging social media #bravelikegabe, #runningonhope, and #1405. Perham boys and girls had a strong opener. Or girls were 3rd overall just behind Moorhead and Fargo North in the 19 team field. Our varsity boys were 2 runners short today, but our youth stepped up the challenge and competed extremely well in a deep field.”

The top 20 finishers for the Perham girls were Quincy Anderson 11th, Gracie Morris 13th, and Leelou Novotny 19th. On the boys, Caden Doll posted a 16th place finish.

The Perham Junior High Girls won the 19 team race with 31 points, which was 35 points ahead of 2nd and our Junior High Boys were 3rd just 11 points out of first.
