The Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team evened their record at 1-1 with a 4-0 shutout of the Crookston Pirates on Friday at the Otter Stadium Field.

Tyra Skjeret scored on a through ball from Piper Andrews with ten minutes left in the first half and the Otters led 1-0 at halftime.

Andrews scored on a through ball from Skjeret with 20 minutes left in the game and then scored on another setup by Skjeret with 15 minutes left.  Andrews completed her hat trick with eighth minutes remaining by converting a through ball from Maddie Hulter into the fourth goal of the game.

“We are trying to establish checking back to the ball and creating give and goes and overlaps,” stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “It’s a relatively new concept so even though we have rough patches during games we need to remember it’s a process and if we stick with it we will be ready with it for the playoffs.  Scoring on four through balls is a start to show us that our timing is improving in the past two weeks.  We had a bit of a slow start but saw great improvements in the second half.”
