The Brandon-Evansville volleyball team is coming off a 9-3 season, winning their third consecutive Little Eight Conference championship with a perfect 6-0 conference mark.  Tenth year Head Coach Kelly Olson will need to find replacements for Bailey Schaefer (1000 kills), now at UM-Crookston, Korrie Randt (1000 assists), Mikenna Pattrin and Morgan Bitzan.

Returning letter winners include seniors Taylor Yeats (Outside Hitter) and Olivia Otto (Defensive Specialist/Right Side Hitter/Outside Hitter), juniors EmmaLee Brethorst (Middle Blocker), Gretchen Bredberg (Middle Blcoker), Grace Otto (Right Side Hitter/Defensive Specialist) and Sydney Schaefer (Setter), and sophomore Kylee Dingwall (Outside Hitter).

Olson will also be looking for senior Kaytlyn Pattrin (Right Side Hitter), junior Kendall Hoidahl (Setter) and sophomore Skylar Bitzan (Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker) to challenge for varsity roles.

“We have a bunch of kids that like being around each other,” stated Coach Olson.  “Their goals for the year are to compete for the conference championship again, work hard in practice and matches, and play for each other every day.  Our team strength is our ability to focus each day.  The girls are trying to compete with each other to make everyone better, to prepare for each match in practice, and come every day with an attitude that makes everyone feel welcomed and important.  If we are going to win more that we lose this year, we will have to be good defensively and smart on offense.  We are pretty athletic and are working on the next ball mentality."

Olson, who will be assisted by Abecca Erickson (Associate Head Coach), Kami Dingwall, Pam Schjei and Heidi Elmer, says Underwood and Parkers Prairie are the top challengers in the Little Eight, while Henning and Breckenridge look to be the teams to beat in Section 6A.
