The Breckenridge-Wahpeton Cross Country team is coached by Larry Lasch.  Lasch is assisted by Christy Haire and Liz Dubb.  With only two seniors on the boys’ team and two on the girls’ team, both teams will be young.

The boys’ team will be led by Aidan Ruddy and Luke Baumgartner.  Aidan placed 14th at the section 6A meet and was a state qualifier.  Aidan was also HOL all conference, as he placed 6th in the HOL meet.  Luke placed 61st and the 6A meet and 30th at the HOL.  Both boys had fantastic track seasons and look to be in good shape coming into the season.   Graduation took away four of our top six runners, so the boys' team will look to Bryce Awander, Devan Diemert, Jonathon Hill, Jaxon Hill, Maks England, and Ethan Lauritsen to fill out the varsity roster.  All ran well last year and are eager to compete for spots on the varsity team.

The girls' team will look for leadership from seniors Rachel Gowin and Madison Rabbithead.  Rachel was our number one runner last year, is a former state qualifier, and this is her 6th year of running cross country.  Maddi is ready for a breakout season and has looking great after putting in quality miles this summer.  Alison Hoerer and Hailee Bruce will contribute to the varsity program as they filled the 5 or 6 spots last year.  A youth movement will fill out the rest of the varsity roster. Eighth graders Kiera Wiertzema, Addi Dodge, Jasmyn Benedict, and 7th grader Aubry Boesen all have the potential to compete for top spots on the team this year.
