The Minnesota State High School League has adopted a 3-class system for Cross Country this fall and that sits well with Fergus Falls boys’ head coach Derek Meyer who says, “This season will be exciting with this new 3-class system.  We will have new teams to compete against and ones that should be more competitive with our team and school.  It was a good move by the state to make this change.”

Kolsen Papon was lost to graduation last spring, but the Otters return seniors Conrad Lobb and Luke Schroeder, sophomore David Ronnevik, and ninth-graders Jaden Miller, Logan Bredenberg and Tommy Erickson.  Lobb and Schroeder will serve as team captains.

“Our team has a competitive core group that will look to make noise at our meets this season,” added Coach Meyer.

Meyer sees Willmar and Alexandria as the top teams in the always tough Central Lakes Conference.

He will be assisted by Josh ScharnbergNiki Welde is the Head Girls Cross Country Coach.
