The Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Warriors were 4-4 on the gridiron last fall.  Sixth-year Head Coach James Paul saw his team go 3-2 in Pheasant Conference play and record a first round playoff victory.  The Warriors lost starters Gunner Martinek (Moorhead State) and Connor Zych from that squad, but have a solid, veteran nucleus returning for the 2021 season.

Seniors Zach Braaten (QB), Jarred Ehlers (RB), Joey Krenz (OL/DL), Logan Young (OL/DL) and Hunter Blume (WR/LB), are joined by juniors Tim Blume (LB) and Grant Dawson (WR/DB) as returning starters.

Juniors Clint Determan (WR/DB), Brayden Hofer (RB/DB) and Nathan Johnson (OL/DL) will be expected to step into varsity roles this fall.

“We have many athletic, skilled players on our roster,” said Paul.  “There are some questions up front on the Offensive and Defensive lines.”

Paul is assisted by Chris Falk (Defensive Coordinator), Jeff Olsen (Special Teams Coordinator), Shawn Shay and Mark Hormann.

Coach Paul says Verndale is the team to beat in the conference and in Section 4 9-Man.
