The M State football team has good numbers as they enter the 2021 college season, leaving head coach Cory Miller feeling optimistic about his team as they look to improve on their 1-6 record from last year.

“We are excited to have a full roster this year,” reported Miller.  “We have several transfers on the offensive side of the ball.  We expect a big year from Rondarius Gregory (RB) and Nate Hayden (QB).  We have fifteen offensive linemen in camp currently and expect to be able to build a solid offensive line.  Defensively, we feel our strength will be our front seven.  We should be able to go eight or nine deep on the defensive line.”

Gregory and Hayden will be joined by fellow newcomers Johnathan Griffin (WR), Fred Brown (WR), Matthew Croteau (OLB) and Will Black (DB).

Kyangelo Robinson (DL), Schannon Spears Jr. (WR) and Joel Dorjuste (RB) are returning starters for the Spartans.

Rounding out the coaching staff are Hal Reeser (Offensive Coordinator), Rick Harig (Defensive Coordinator), Adam Plagman (Defensive Backs/Strength Coach), Freddie Smith (Co-Offensive Coordinator/Wide Receivers Coach), Stan Bedwell (Quarterbacks) and Anthony Puluso (Running Backs).

Miller looks to Itasca and Rochester to be the top teams in the MCAC.
