The Breckenridge Cowgirls are coming off a tremendous volleyball season that saw them go 12-1 overall and 10-1 in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference, finishing first in the HOL and ranked number one is Section 6A and number nine in the Class A State rankings.  The Cowgirls lost 3-year starter Jude Held to graduation, but have an outstanding returning senior class to lead them in 2021.

Returning starters include seniors Riley Finkral (Libero), Camryn Kaehler (Outside Hitter), Carcie Materi (Setter), Sophie Larson (Setter), Tori Undem (Right Side Hitter) and Ana Erickson (Middle Hitter), along with junior Abby Johnson (Outside Hitter).

“We bring back a lot of starters with multiple years of varsity experience,” noted fifth-year Head Coach Margaret Wilson.  “We are the only team in our conference to stay Class A, so we will have a mix of Class A and AA matches this season.  Section 6A is a very competitive section.  We look forward to playing section matches during the regular season.”

Seniors Lauren Beyer (Middle Hitter) and Morgan Bruns (Right Side Hitter) and junior Addison Twidwell (Middle Hitter) will be looking to step into contributing roles at the varsity level.

“Our defensive game needs to improve in order to compete at the level we want for this season,” added Coach Wilson.

Wilson, who will be assisted by Alicia Finkral, Missy Johnson and Briana Dauer, says Henning, BBE and Underwood are the top teams in Section 6A, while DGF, Perham and Barnesville are the teams to beat in the HOL.
