With the loss of Head Coach Steve Jipson to cancer last year, the Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley football team will be under the direction of Activities Director Ben Blees in 2021.  Blees will be assisted by Chad Zimmel, Ed Perrault and Tanner Teske.

The Wolverines will be looking to improve on their 2-4 record of a year ago, however, they will have some holes to fill as several key players and leaders were lost to graduation.

“We lost our entire offensive line, including our strong and fast right guard Isaac Ebnet, our intelligent and reliable center Marshall Vold, our silent leader left guard Wyatt Erickson and our pass catching and run blocking tight end Jake Adelman,” stated Coach Blees.  “We also lost our second leading rusher Nathan Moberg.”

Returning starters include seniors Isaac Haanen (RB, DB), Chuck Kleindl (QB/DE) and Jens Jorgenson (WR) and junior Cole Gilsdorf (WR).  Newcomers to the varsity lineup may include sophomore Tyler Gorebner (LB), junior Tyler Wills (OL/DL) and senior Wyatt Krueger (TE).

“We will be young, but we will still be able to play at a high level,” said Blees.  “We will need to play our game and do the best we can.”

Hancock, Brandon-Evansville, Verndale and Wheaton/Herman-Norcross will be the top teams in District 9.
