The Fergus Falls Hurricanes clinched the Countryside League title on Sunday night with an 11-0 shutout victory over the Vergas Loons, earning a first round bye in the upcoming Region 16C playoffs.

Darin Stanislawski (6IP, 10K, 2BB, 4H, 0R) and Thomas Bosek combined on the shutout.

Fergus Falls pushed across two runs in the bottom of the first inning on RBI singles from Mitch Porter and Alex Hexum.  With one out in the third, consecutive singles by Tosten Mann, Stanislawski and Porter scored another run for the Canes.  A seven-run fifth gave the home team a 10-0 lead.  Mann tripled to lead off the inning and scored on a double by Stanislawski.  After a fly out, Hexum was hit by a pitch and Austin Stanislawski singled to load the bases.  Carter Thielke then drove in two with a base hit.  After a strikeout, Sean McGuire singled in a run, Jack Hiedeman knocked in an additional run with a base hit and Mann delivered a 2-run single.  The final run came in the sixth on a two-out single by Tommy Hiedeman, scoring Austin Stanislawski.

Mann (4-4, 3B, 2R, 3RBI), Darin Stanislawski (2-4, 2B, 2R, RBI), Porter (2-4, RBI) and Thielke (2-3, R, 2RBI) led the 15-hit attack by the Canes.

Fergus Falls will play at Dilworth against the Raildogs on Saturday at 1:30pm.
