The Ottertail Central 15U baseball team is now 7-7 on the season after splitting a Wednesday double header with Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.  OTC lost game one, 1-0, and then took the nightcap, 9-7.

Both teams were strong on the mound in the opener with OTC starter Teddy Grabe recording 12 outs and allowing only one run on one hit, while striking out three batters.  Winning pitcher Landon Johnson (5IP, 6K, 1H, 0R) was sharp for DGF.  Lane Dilly had one hit in two at bats to lead OTC and Cayson Berge went 1-for-2 at the plate for Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.

In game two the teams were tied 6-6 with OTC batting in the top of the seventh when Evan Lundgren singled to knock in the go ahead run.  OTC tallied 9 hits, led by Lundgren with 3 hits in 4 at bats and Isaac Richards with a pair of base knocks.  Isaiah Damico went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead DGF.

Eric Fick (2IP, 1H, 4R, 1K, 1WW) started on the mound for OTC and Lane Dilly (2IP, 0H, 0R, 2K, 0BB) was the winning pitcher.  Kaleb Hammes and Owen Harig pitched out of the bullpen with Harig recording the final three outs to earn the save.  The loss went to Carson Sorenson (2IP, 2K, 3R, 3H).  Nick Waale (3.2IP, 4R, 4H, 4K) was the starter for DGF.

“Our pitchers threw extremely well tonight,” commented OTC Head Coach Evan Meece.  “It was too bad we couldn’t get the bats going in the first game behind Teddy’s great start.  We were defensively solid in game one, but lost our focus and committed far too many errors in the second game.  I’m proud of the boys for battling back and getting the W.  We need to clean things up defensively and get the bats going earlier moving forward.”

OTC will travel to Evansville for a double header against PRBA on Friday night.
