The Ottertail Central 15U team dropped a double header to Fergus Falls on Thursday, losing 5-4 and 8-7.

In game one, the two teams were tied at 4-4 with Fergus Falls batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored a run to break the tie.  Eric Fick (1IP, 1R, 1H, 1K, 0BB) took the loss in relief of Gavin Pausch (5IP, 4H, 4R, 1K).  Brock Scheummer (4IP,1H, 0R, 1BB) was the winning pitcher for Fergus Falls, coming on in relief of Carston Fronning (3IP, 3H, 4R, 1K).

Hitting leaders for the Bulldogs were Garrett Kuhn-Rice, Conner Thompson, Kaleb Hammes and Owen Harig, who each contributed one hit.

Both teams had their bats working in the 8-7 slugfest in the nightcap.  Alex Ellison (1.2IP, 3K, 0BB, 0R, 0H) got the win in a solid relief appearance for Fergus Falls.  Garrett Kuhn-Rice (3.1IP, 4H, 6R, 2K) took the loss for OTC.  Isaac Richards had two hits in three at bats to lead OTC at the plate.

“We once again weren’t able to finish out the game and hold on to a late lead,” stated OTC Head Coach Evan Meece.  “That’s a big hurdle we need to jump to take the next step.”
