The OTC 15u team hosted its first annual Father's Day Tournament at beautiful Tony Kawlewski Field on Friday and Saturday.  Teams in action included Staples-Motley, Frazee, and DGF.  Staple-Motley took the championship going 3-0, while the other three teams all finished 1-2.  OTC lost to Staples-Motley in the opener on Friday night and defeated DGF in the nightcap on Saturday night.  It was a beautiful day for baseball and a great turnout from all teams made a great tournament.

Friday’s game against Staples-Motley was a heartbreaker for OTC as they lost the lead late in a 14-6 defeat.  Staples-Motley trailed 6-5 in the top of the sixth inning when Griffin Bettis tripled with the bases loaded to give his team an 8-6 lead.  Staples-Motley had 12 hits in the game.  Ben Tyrrell (5IP, 6R, 6H, 6K) was credited with the victory.  Jack Carlson threw two innings of shutout relief.

Drew Evavold and Soren Floden led OTC with 2 hits apiece.  Garrett Kuhn-Rice (5.1IP, 3R, 6H, 2K) started the game on the mound and Conner Thompson took the loss.

Despite facing an 8-run deficit in the seventh inning of their game with Frazee on Saturday, OTC came storming back but the rally fell a run short in a 12-11 loss.  Asher Blaine (5.2IP, 4H, 4R, 4K) was the winning pitcher and Teddy Grabe (3IP, 3K, 6H, 8R) took the loss for OTC.  Frazee was led by Derrik Zitzow with three hits in five at bats.  Kale Misegades had a pair of RBI doubles to lead OTC.

The Raptors put up nine runs in the first inning on the way to a 14-4 victory over DGF in their second game of the day on Saturday. Kaleb Hammes (5IP, 7H, 4R, 6K) was the winning pitcher.  Soren Floden went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead a 13-hit attack by OTC.

The tournament moves OTC to 5-4 on the year.  They will travel to Urbank next Saturday to face league rival Parkers Prairie.
