Fergus Falls 13U Baseball Sweeps Breckenridge in LRBR Action

The Fergus Falls 13U baseball team stayed hot and swept Breckenridge in a Lake Region Babe Ruth double header at M-State on Wednesday night winning 13-3 and 9-4.

In game one, the Otters jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning and didn’t look back as they cruised to a 13-3 victory in 5 innings.  Hunter Powers started on the hill and provided 3 ⅔ innings of work before giving way to Micah Johnson who closed out the final 1 ⅓ innings.  The Otters pounded out 10 hits, led by Parker Thielke, Hunter Powers and Jacob Fronning who each had 2 hits.  Micah Johnson (2B), Cam Wiederich, Rowan Cheshire (3B), and Quinn Wynn-Sheldon (2B) each added a hit, supporting the all-around team effort.  Pitching lines for the Otters: 
Powers 3.2IP, 4H, 1R, 1ER, 3BB, 7K
Johnson 1.1IP, 2R, 0ER, 2BB, 3K

In the second game of the night the Otters stayed consistent winning 9-4.  The offense was once again strong at the plate putting up 4 runs in each of the first 2 innings, generating an early 8-2 lead.  Sparking the offense was Powers, going 2-2 at the plate with a triple and Wynn-Sheldon who was 1-3 with 3 RBI, highlighted by a deep shot to center field for an in the park home run.  Johnson, Thielke, Weiderich, Boston Rosin, and Brant Sheuerman each had one hit in the game.

The Otters sent four different pitchers to the mound, limiting the Cowboys to 4 runs on 4 hits. Fronning got the start and went two innings before Cheshire, Isaiah Holmes, and Weiderich came in, each providing one inning of relief, securing the 9-4 victory. 

The 13U Otters improve to 11-1 this summer and return to the diamond next Tuesday for a double header versus DGF at M-State.
