The Ottertail Central Raptors 15U baseball team completed a double header sweep of Detroit Lakes on Thursday, winning 16-0 in game one and 9-1 in game two.

It was the Lane Dilly show in the opener as he threw a shutout, allowing one hit over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.  He also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles, driving in six runs in the game.  OTC had 12 hits as a team with Garrett Kuhn-Rice, Conner Thompson and Eric Fick joining Dilly with two hits each.  The Raptors did not commit an error in the field.

A five-run fifth inning broke game two open as the Raptors got RBI hits from Fick, Isaac Richards, Drew Evavold and Kaleb Hammes in the inning.  Hammes (4IP, 3H, R, 7K) was the winning pitcher and Fick threw one inning in relief.  Soren Floden went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead OTC.

“This was a great way to start the season for our 15U team,” commented Head Coach Evan Meece.  “We did well at all aspects of the game tonight.  We had a lot of really good at bats and smacked the ball all over the place.  We only struck out 3 times total in both games.  Defensively, we were fantastic, committing just two errors in the double header.  On the mound, our pitchers were pounding the strike zone and missing a lot of bats.  I’m really proud of these boys and excited for the season to get rolling.”
