Perham Beats Breckenridge Twice

Perham swept a pair of baseball games from Breckenridge on Monday, winning 9-3 and 10-7.

The Yellowjackets scored 3 times in the fifth and 4 times in the sixth in game one to break open a close game.  With the game tied 3-3 in game two, Perham put four runs on the board in the fifth and two more in the sixth to take a 9-3 lead. 

 

Top hitters for Perham in the first game were Logan Pulju (2-4, 3 RBI, R, 2B), Ben Shumansky (2-4, 2R), Rian Solberg (2-2, 2 RBI, 2R, 2B) and Chas Melvin (1-3, HR, RBI, 3R).  Pulju (4IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 5K, 6BB) earned the win on the mound and Caden Schossow (3IP, 3H, 1R, 1ER, 6K, 0BB) got the save.

Jared Aamold hit a pair of home runs, driving in 3 runs and scoring 2 to lead the Cowboys.  Griffen Bose had 3 hits in 4 at bats.

Hitting leaders for Perham in game two were Chas Melvin (3-3, 2R, 2 RBI, BB, 2B, SB), Ben Shumansky (2-4, 2R, 3 RBI, 2B, HR), Jack Mensing (2-4, RBI, R) and Logan Pulju (1-3, 2B, R, RBI, BB, SB).  Finn Diggins (4.1IP, 4H, 3R, 2ER, 8K, 2BB) was the winning pitcher and Austin Aanenson (2.2IP, 4H, 3R, 2ER, 4K, 1BB) got the save.

Breckenridge was led at the plate by Cooper Yaggie (2-3, B, RBI, R, BB).
