Connor Twidwell (7IP, 7H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 3K) went the distance to get the win for the Cowboys. The loss went to Colton Lindquist (4.1IP, 7H, 6R, 6ER, 5BB, 3K).
Chris Nieto (3-4, 2B, 2 RBI, 2R, SB) and Cooper Yaggie (2-3, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, R) led Breckenridge at the plate.
Jordan Lohse and Lindquist knocked in the runs for the Knights. Reubens Swanson and Isaac Kreft each scored and Kreft had two of the 7 steals by WCA.
“In the Breckenridge game I thought we played well,” commented WCA Head Coach Andrew Koloski. “We had a couple mistakes that they took advantage of to score some runs. We had several opportunities to score but just couldn’t get a key hit to get some guys in. They are a solid team and the boys showed they are right there.”
Parkers Prairie took a 5-1 lead with four runs in the fourth inning of the Friday game, however, WCA pulled even with four runs of their own in the top of the seventh. The Panthers walked off with a win in the bottom of the seventh.
Anthony Sykora (3-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, R) was the hitting leader for the Knights.
“The game with Parkers on Friday was a tough one,” stated Coach Koloski. “We lost a one run game but there are several positives to take from it. We came back to tie the game in the top of the 7th. Played really well defensively and had several good at bats.”
