Arrows Improve to 18-0 with Two Wins in Roseau

Ashby won a pair of baseball games in Roseau on Friday, extending their winning streak to start the season to 18 games.  The Arrows won 18-0 over Lake of the Woods and then beat the host Rams by the score of 5-3.

Against Lake of the Woods, Carter Spangler hurled a two-hit shutout.  Spangler struck out 8 and didn’t walk a batter in his five innings on the mound.

Ashby had 11 hits in the game with Torin Olson going 3-for-4 and stealing two bases.  The Arrows had 8 steals on the day.  Hunter Norby and Jaden Norby added two hits apiece.

Against the Rams, Ashby fell behind 1-0 in the first inning, but took a 2-1 lead in the third on an RBI double by Olson and run-scoring single by Jaden Norby.  Olson added another RBI double in the fifth and the Arrows scored another run on an error.  Ashby had 8 hits in the game with Evan Paulson, Olson and Carson Spangler all collecting two.  Jaden Norby (7IP, 6H, 3R, 8K, 1BB) was the winning pitcher.

“Two huge wins tonight,” commented Ashby Head Coach Jared Larson.  “I’m super proud of the boys and how well they played.”
