Fighting Saints Blank Owls as Call and Henjam Combine for Shutout

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings on Tuesday in Hancock, added four runs in the fifth and finished off a 7-0 shutout win over the Owls.  KMS had 9 hits in the contest and the Owls had six.

Leaders for Hancock were Adam Shaw (3-4, 2B) and Dain Schroeder (2-2, BB).  Hudson Ver Steeg had one hit in three at bats.  Kody Berget (3IP, 2H, 3R, 2ER, 3K, 1BB) took the loss.  Ver Steeg pitched one and two-thirds innings of one-hit, scoreless relief.

Brody Forsell (2-3, HR, RBI, R, BB), Jared Cortez (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R), Alex Call (2-4, 2 RBI, R, SB), Wylee Lottman (1-3, 2R, BB) and Devon Swanson (1-3, RBI, R, SB) were the hitting leaders for the Fighting Saints.  Winning pitcher Isaac Call (5IP, 4H, 0R, 3K, 2BB) added a hit in four at bats and a stolen base.  Jaiden Henjam (2IP, 2H, 2K) finished up on the mound for KMS.
