Otter Baseball Team Snaps Five Game Losing Skid with Win at Crookston

The Fergus Falls baseball team traveled to Crookston on Monday where they ended their five game losing skid with a five-inning 13-3 victory over the Pirates.  The Otters collected 12 hits in the game.

The Otters broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the third inning and increased their lead to 10-1 with four more in the fourth.  After Crookston cut the lead to 10-3 with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, the Otters put three more on the board in the top of the fifth.

Carter Thielke (3-3, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI), Owen Krueger (3-4, 3 RBI) and Ian Stumbo (2-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI) led the offensive attack for the Otters and freshman Ethan Gronwold picked up his first varsity hit.

Thielke struck out seven batters in his three innings of work to earn the win.  David Horgen (2IP, 2R, 4H, 3K) pitched the final two innings.

Fergus Falls (3-13) will host Brainerd at 5:00pm Tuesday at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park.
