Chargers and Owls Split Double Header

Brandon-Evansville and Hancock split a baseball double header on Thursday with the Chargers taking the opener, 6-0, and the Owls winning 4-3 in game two.

Tyler Bitzan (6IP, 5H, 6K, 1BB) and Brady Perleberg (1IP, 1K) combined on the first game shutout.   Bitzan (2-3, R, 3SB) and Titus Fuller (2-4, RBI, R) were the top hitters for the Chargers.  Riley Perleberg knocked in a pair of runs with a base hit.  Preston Rohloff (2-3, SB), Kody Berget (1-2, BB, SB) and Devon Schroeder (1-2, 2B) led the Owls.

In the second game the Owls overcame a 3-0 deficit with a run in the third and 3 in the fourth.  Four B-E errors allowed 3 unearned runs to cross the plate.  Hitting leaders for Hancock were Davin Rose (2-3, RBI), Brayden DeSmith (1-3, R), Rohloff (1-4), Dain Schroeder (1-4) and Devon Schroeder (1-3).  Kody Berget (7IP, 4H, 3R, 2ER, 6K, 2BB) was the winning pitcher.

Hunter Koep (1-2, 2 RBI, BB), Kyle Schaffran (1-3, R, SB), Fuller (1-3) and Brady Perleberg (1-2, RBI, R) led the Chargers at the plate.  Dezmond White (5IP, 6H, 4R, 1ER, 4K, 4BB) took the loss for the Chargers and Bitzan (2IP, 4K) finished up on the mound.
