Fergus Falls Girls Hockey Awards

The Fergus Falls Girls’ High School Hockey team held their annual awards banquet to celebrate the 2020-2021 season.  The Otters honored the four seniors on the roster this year: Ellie Andersen, Abbi Jensen, Natalie Fransen, and Thea Eklund (manager).

Ellie Andersen and Maddie Hulter were named to the Central Lakes All Conference Team, while Piper Andrews, Gabby Brimhall, and Hope Goepferd were named All Conference Honorable Mention.  Ellie Andersen was also named to the Central Lakes Scholar Athlete Honor Roll and the All-State Academic team.

Ellie Andersen and Maddie Hulter were named to the Central Lakes All Conference Team, while Piper Andrews, Gabby Brimhall, and Hope Goepferd were named All Conference Honorable Mention.  Ellie Andersen was also named to the Central Lakes Scholar Athlete Honor Roll and the All-State Academic team.

At the varsity level, Ellie Andersen was awarded MVP and Hardest Worker.  Abbi Jensen received the Spirit Award.  Hannah Johnson was voted as Most Improved.  Abbi Jensen also received the Hobey Baker Character Award for positive attitude, coachability, sportsmanship, academic achievement, and community spirit.  Natalie Fransen won the annual Scholarship Award for the Sisterhood of Hockey.

At the JV level, Hannah Johnson was awarded MVP.  Yana Prischmann was voted as Most Improved.  Chloe Schake received the Spirit Award and Ella Starzl received Hardest Worker.

The Otters had a record number of players qualify for the Everyday Otter Award this season, which players can earn for not missing a single game or practice all season.  A total of 17 players earned the Everyday Otter Award, including: Ellie Andersen, Piper Andrews, Gabby Brimhall, Jadyn Bye, Kiara Grady, Marilyn Karsnia, Desirae Maack, Lizzy Moxness, Maddie Hulter, Skye Norgren, Chloe Schake, Ava Werner, Hanna Bye, Ana Jyrkas, Rylynn Krein, Lexi Metcalf, and Brooklyn Walden.
