Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning the Fergus Falls softball team scored four runs to take a 7-6 lead.  The Otters were able to hold the lead and take the one run lead over Bemidji on Thursday at DeLagoon Park.

“We’re starting to really get into the flow of competing for 7 full innings,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Lisa Truax.  “We responded right away, got into trouble here and there defensively, but our bats were lively tonight.  After losing the lead, Rylynn Krein’s home run jump started us once again.  We had multiple players with multiple hits which keeps us in ball games.”

Krein (4IP, 3H, R, 0ER, 6K, 0BB) earned the win in relief of starting pitcher Kacey Fredrickson (3IP, 5H, 5R, 2ER, 3K, 4BB).  Hitting leaders were Karyssa Eberle (3-4, RBI, 2R), Ashlyn Eckhoff (3-4, RBI, R), Tori Ratz (2-4, RBI), Kellen Frigaard (2-3, 2B, R) and Krein (2-4, HR, 3 RBI, R).  Fergus Falls collected 15 hits in the game and survived 6 errors in the field.

The Otters will host Hawley at 5:00pm Friday.
