Perham Baseball Team Sweeps Barnesville in Home Double Header

The Perham baseball team hosted a double header against Barnesville on Thursday with the Yellowjackets winning both games by scores of 10-0 and 15-2.

Rian Solberg (2-3, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2R) delivered a double, a home run and four runs batted in to back up the 3-hit shutout pitching of Finn Diggins, as the Perham Yellowjackets took game one of their Thursday double header with Barnesville, 10-0.  Diggins struck out ten batters and walked two in the five-inning victory.  Chas Melvin (1-3, HR, 2 RBI, 2R) also homered and drove in a pair of runs.  Austin Aanenson (1-3, RBI, 2R) and Gage Germolus (2BB, 2R) each scored twice.  Carsen Hagen (2-3, SB) and Payton Pauna (1-2) had the Barnesville hits.

Germolus (4IP, 2H, 7K), Caden Schossow (1IP, 2K, 2R, 0ER) and Austin Aanenson (2IP, 2K, 2BB) combined to complete the sweep with a 15-2 win in game two.  Aanenson (4-5, 2B, 2 RBI, 2R), Melvin (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 3R), Andrew Smith (1-2, BB, SB, 3R), Austin Schmelz (1-2, 2B, RBI) and Mason Schepper (1-3, RBI, R) were the offensive leaders for Perham.
