The Otter boy's track and field team hosted Central Lakes Conference opponent Willmar on Thursday afternoon in Fergus Falls. “This was our second competition of the week and has kept us busy,” said Head Coach Derek Meyer. “Some athletes were in some different events this meet to take a break and recover. The weather was warmer and windy at times with gusts of 20mph.”

Some spotlight performances from the meet include:

Alex Jensen continuing a strong season and dominating his competition with a 1st place finish in the shot put with a throw over 50 feet 3 meets in a row.

The Boys 4x800m relay started the meet off in dramatic fashion with a come from behind win, with Conrad Lobb taking the lead in the final 100 meters of the race to hold on. Other teammates to put him in that position to fight for the win were Tommy Erickson, David Ronnevik, and Jaden Miller.

Luke Newman had a solid day jumping placing 2nd in the High Jump and 2nd in the Triple Jump. “This was Luke's first time with the triple jump and exciting to see how this event pans out the rest of the season,” added Coach Meyer.

The Otters will face off against Rocori next Thursday, May 6 at their home track.
