Fergus Falls hosted another unbeaten team on Thursday as Class 3A Willmar paid a visit to American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park where they defeated the Otters 10-0, holding them to just four hits in the game.  Abel Aho and Aric Heacox each had a two hits in the game.

Willmar led 2-0 after three innings but scored four times in the fourth and four more times in the fifth to close out the game by the ten-run rule after five innings.  The Cardinals had only six hits, however, they took advantage of multiple walks and hit batters by Fergus Falls pitchers.

“Our pitchers need to figure out a way to get ahead in the count,” acknowledged Head Coach Kevin Pearson.  “They issued way too many walks and hit too many batters.”

Carter Thielke (4IP, 6H, 6R, 3BB, 7K) took the loss on the mound.

Fergus Falls will travel to St. Cloud on Tuesday for a double header with St. Cloud Tech.
