The M State baseball team scored two runs in the first, four in the second and four more in the third to jump out to a 10-0 lead on Tuesday as they went on to defeat North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton by the score of 11-2.

Leading hitters for the Spartans were Kyle Doup (3-4, 3R, 3 RBI), Dane Schwirtz (2-5, 2B 2R, 2 RBI), Austin Oetter (2-5) and Ty Kargar (1-3, 2 2B, 3R, RBI).

Wyatt Hamann (7IP, 10H, 2R, 2ER, 5K) was the winning pitcher and Daniel Buendorf pitched two innings of scoreless relief, recording 4 strikeouts.

“I thought we really came out and set the tone early on offense,” said Head Coach Grant Harding of M State. “We played error-free baseball and Wyatt didn't walk anyone which always gives you a chance to win.”
