On Friday April 23rd the Fergus Falls boys’ track and field team hosted Bemidji in a dual meet contest which was won by Bemidji, 98-48. “The weather was cloudy and cool,” reported Fergus Falls Head Coach Derek Meyer. “As a team we had great improvement from our last attempts on the track last week against Alexandria and Moorhead. The boys went out and attacked the track. We had some spotlight performances throughout the day.”

Alex Jensen stood out among his competitors with an impressive shotput of 52' 2.5" placing first in the event. Alex set a personal best with his effort and ranks him currently one of the top throwers in the state. “It is exciting to see this early season success in our throws,” said Meyer. “Alex also continued his tremendous efforts placing 1st in the discus throwing 134' 10.5", also a personal best.”

Conrad Lobb had a nice race in the 1600m with a time of 5:07.67 placing 3rd against strong competition. Following in closely were 8th graders Jaden Miller, 5:08.03 and Logan Bredenberg, 5:12.49.  “All three boys ran great races and dropped time from last meet for all personal best,” added Coach Meyer. “Many other of the boys had great performances and places. It was all around a good day.”
