Brandon-Evansville senior Bailey Schaefer has officially signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at the University of Minnesota-Crookston, who play in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

“We are excited that Bailey gets to continue playing volleyball at the next level,” commented B-E Head Coach Kelly Olson.  “She has worked very hard for many years and has earned every accolade she has received.  She leaves the Charger program in better shape than when she came.  She has helped us earn three straight undefeated conference championships, four years on the all-conference team, and two league MVP’s.  Bailey also has earned Academic All-State and was the third player in school history to be an All-State player.  She was our first player to reach 1000 career kills.”

Debbie (Slack) Otto was an All-State player and made the All-Tournament team, and Kami (Jesnowski) Dingwall was All-State honorable mention.

Schaefer finished her career with impressive statistical numbers including 1150 kills, 4.04 kills per set, 285 sets played, 56 blocks, 650 digs and 158 aces.

“We are going to miss having her on the team for obvious reasons, but her dedication and leadership will be missed the most,” added Coach Olson.  “UM-Crookston is not only getting a great volleyball player, but they are also getting a player that knows what it takes to get better through hard work.”
