Spartan Men End Season with Loss to Riverland

Riverland made 51% (35-69) of their shots and held a 41-26 edge on the boards Saturday afternoon as they handed the Spartan Men's basketball team an 88-60 loss in the final game of the season for M State.

The Spartans trailed by 17 (42-25) at the half, but cut the lead to ten in the second half before running out of gas.  M State was playing with just six players in the game, while the Blue Devils had 11 players score and 13 players take the court.

Nic Pearson led the Spartans with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  Mert Taylor and Carter Cresap contributed 14 points each, and Renell Edwards (6 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists) turned in a solid game.  Kellen Hinsz finished with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Cleveland Bedgood led the Blue Devils with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.  Deng Jal recorded a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds). Keyshawn Payne and Joe Burgos added 11 points apiece.

The Spartans end the season with a record of 3-8.

Riverland is 16-2.
