Tori Ratz made seven of her 8 3-pointers in the first half to lead the Fergus Falls girls’ basketball team to 38-17 halftime lead in their 73-41 win over Roseau in their Section 8AA quarterfinal round matchup at the Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls on Friday night.

Ratz finished with a game high 24 points and added 4 steals and 3 rebounds.  Ellie Colbeck recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 assists.  She also had 6 rebounds and 2 steals.  Ainsley Hansen had a team high 7 rebounds and Logan Strom dished out 3 assists.

Fergus Falls shot 40% (27-60) from the floor, while Roseau hit only 35% (17-49) of their field goal attempts.  Ten of the eleven Otters scored in the game.  Fergus Falls held a 31-25 edge on the boards.

"Great effort by the Otters tonight against a well coached Roseau team," said Fergus Falls Head Coach Brad Strand. "Our defensive intensity was terrific and great to see the carryover from practice on what Coach (Josh) Steer has been working on with the girls.  Loved to see the team play with many assisted baskets and some great shooting."

The win was the fourteenth in a row for the Otters, who improved to 17-3 on the season.  They will now host the Hawley Nuggets (13-7) in a semifinal round contest on Tuesday night in Fergus Falls.
