Otter Girls Fall to River Lakes in 6A Semifinals

The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey season came to an end in Paynesville on Thursday night as the River Lakes Stars posted a 4-1 win over the Otters.

The home team scored first on a power play goal by Hannah Zimmer, assisted by Aubrey Griffin and Myckenzie Cremers at 3:45 of the first period.  An unassisted goal by Ellie Andersen at 8:27 tied the game at 1-1.

The second period was scoreless but River Lakes scored three third period goals to win the game.  Zimmer scored unassisted at 3:38, Sophia Hess scored from Kianna Roeske and Brooke Lemke at 4:35 and Roeske scored at 16:40.

Ana Jyrkas stopped 25 of 29 River Lakes shots on goal.  The Otters had 28 shots in the game.

Fergus Falls ends the season with a 10-9-1 record.
