Viking Girls Win Playoff Opener

The defending Section 6A Girls’ basketball champions moved on with a first round victory on Wednesday night.  The Pelican Rapids Vikings led 32-15 at the half and finished with a 55-39 win over Staples-Motley.

Greta Tollefson (29 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals) and Anna Stephenson (11 point, 6 rebounds) led the Vikings in the win.  Morgan Korf had 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals, and Allie Haiby added 3 steals.

Pelican Rapids will host Park Rapids Area in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs on Friday night at 7:00pm.
