“The girls played outstanding defense the entire night,” stated Head Coach Jodi Holleman. “They are really starting to play together like a team.”
Sabrina Fronning put together a solid stat line with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Jayna Gronewold tallied 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and came up with 5 steals on the night. Abby Tysdal was also in double figures with 10 points. Kalista Aamot contributed 9 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
M State shot 37% (22-60) from the field and made 18-of-26 free throws. Minnesota West made 36% (23-64) of their field goal attempts and only 4-of-8 free throws. They were led by Hunter Garcia with 23 points. Shelby Christensen added 14 points and Jazmin Voehl had 9 points and a team high 13 rebounds.
The lady Spartans will host Rochester at 1:00pm Saturday at M State.
