Scoring on five of their first six possessions the LPGE Thunder took a 14-3 lead in the Ashby gym Friday night.  The Arrows answered with a 21-9 run to grab a 24-23 lead at the halftime break.  The Arrow lead steadily increased throughout the second half on the way to a 57-34 final score.

Three Arrows reached double figures.  Jaden Norby led all scorers with 14 points.  Torin Olson and Jacob Cook netted 13 and 11 points, respectively.  Derrek Bartz made three 3's for 9 points.  Ashton Ecker and Hunter Norby each had 5 points.

LPGE shooting guard Joe Liebsch was the lone Thunder player to reach double figures with 10 points.

“When the Thunder impressive perimeter shooting cooled a bit we started making shots and turned momentum in our favor,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.

It was Senior Night.  The team was proud to honor its eight seniors.  Coach Holsten commented, “Derrek Bartz, Jake Rein, Ashton Ecker, Bobby Anderson, Jaden Norby, Miles Hoff, Colby Finkelson, and Zach Buck have been outstanding representatives of the Ashby school and community.  Speaking for Coach Quernemoen it has been a privilege to coach these student-athletes.  We wish them all the best.”

The Arrows (18-0) earned the #1 seed in the playoffs and will host an opponent yet to be determined in the sub-section quarterfinal round Thursday night.
