The Fergus Falls Otter Boys basketball team ended regular season play Friday night, winning their 4th straight as they posted a 56-42 Senior Night home court win over the Rocori Spartans.

The game marked the return of Otter big man Chance Fazio who had missed ten games after sustaining an ankle injury in a loss at Detroit Lakes in February. Despite limited minutes, Fazio scored 13 second-half points and nine rebounds to go along with 4 blocked shots and 3 assists.

The Otters, who never trailed, had another hot shooting start in the contest, making 8 of their first 11 shots from the floor. Dominic Aguilar led the way, with four treys among his 17 opening-half points. The Otters led by twelve, 33-21, with about two minutes left, when Rocori scored the final six points of the half, including a half-court heave banked in at the buzzer from Luke Humbert.

Rocori scored to open the second half to pull within four but would get no closer as the Otters were able go inside to Fazio who also assisted on several back-door cuts to the baskets to push the lead as high as eighteen points (56-38) late in the game.

Aguilar finished with a game-high 21 points for the Otters, and Fazio had 13. Abel Aho and Luke Newman added 8 points each. Fergus Falls shot 58% making 22-of-38 attempts from the floor. Rocori was led on the scoreboard by Matt Torborg with 14, Tucker Haakonson had 12, and Humbert contributed 8. The Spartans made just 27% (15-of-55) of their field goal attempts.

The Otters finish with an 11-7 mark overall, 7-6 in the tough Central Lakes Conference. They now await the outcome of seeding on Sunday for next weeks Section 8 AA Tournament. Their high QRF rating should give them a quarter-final or opening round home game on Thursday, March 19.
