Otter Girls End Regular Season with 6-2 Home Ice Win Over Bemidji

The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team ended their regular season schedule with an impressive 6-2 win over Bemidji on Friday night at the Community Arena.

Bemidji scored a power play goal to take a 1-0 lead, however, the Otters scored the final three goals of the first period to take momentum into the intermission.  Hannah Johnson notched the first goal of the night, assisted by Piper AndrewsLizzy Moxness then scored from Desi Maack and Rylynn Krein to give the Otters a 2-1 lead.  Ellie Anderson’s goal from Andrews and Hope Goepferd put the score at 3-1.

Bemidji notched another power play goal to start the second period, cutting the Fergus Falls lead to 3-2.  Andersen responded with a power play goal from Andrews to get the two goal lead back on the board for the Otters.

Third period goals from Talia Nelson, assisted by Johnson and Andrews, and Maddie Hulter, unassisted, put the final at 6-2.

Ana Jyrkas stopped 16 of 18 Bemidji shots on goal and the Otters put 38 shots on the Bemidji net.

Fergus Falls (9-8-1) will now await the seeding results for Section 6A to determine their first round playoff opponent.
