Cardinals Snap 3 Game Losing Skid with 2-1 Win Over Brainerd

Alexandria goalie Christopher Loken stopped 20 of 21 shots on goal Thursday night as the Cardinals defeated the Brainerd Warriors 2-1 in a Central Lakes Conference boys’ hockey contest at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria.

After a scoreless first period the Warriors struck at 11:05 of the second when Aden Extrand scored from Cooper Cousino and Ares Soukup.

The Cardinals pulled event at 6:34 of the third when Grant Rebrovich scored from Jacob Partington and Brycen Berg.  The game winner came at 15:56 from Nick Peterson, assisted by Tyler Kludt.  Alexandria finished with 28 shots on the Brainerd goal.

Alexandria (8-8-1) snapped a 3 game losing skid with the win.
