Cooper Yaggie went over 1,000 career points as Breckenridge defeated Wheaton by a score of 82-70 in non-conference boys’ basketball action in Wheaton on Thursday night. The halftime score was 38-32, Cowboys.

Leading scorers for the Cowboys were Cooper Yaggie with 24, Jonah Christensen with 19, Adam Ohm with 15, and Anthony Conzemius with 11. Leading rebounders were Yaggie, Conzemius, and Christensen with 7 each. Yaggie and Christensen each added 3 assists.

The Warriors were led by Clint Determan (18 points, 5 rebounds), Dylan Bainbridge (15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists), Grant Dawson (11 points, 2 assists) and Andrew Walker (9 points, 2 steals).

“This was a fun game to be a part of,” stated Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Head Coach Jordon Roos. “It was pretty close first half the entire way. In the second half they opened up a 14 point lead and we were able to bring it back within 2, before they went on a run the last few minutes. We weren’t sharp enough on the defensive end against their high powered offense and we also struggled to grab rebounds which might have been the difference in the game.”

Breckenridge (12-5) will close out the regular season with a 7:30pm game at Frazee on Saturday.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (7-9) ends the regular season with a home game against Brandon-Evansville on Friday night.
