Grani Scores 27 to Lead Nuggets Past Trojans

Hayden Grani poured in 27 points to lead the Hawley boys’ basketball team to a 62-61 Heart O’ Lakes Conference win in Barnesville on Thursday night.

Brady Gratton contributed 9 and Brevin Stoa and Bryant Carlisle chipped in with 8 points each for the Nuggets who shot 51% (22-43) from the field and made 12-of-16 free throws.

Barnesville made 44% (23-52) of their field goal attempts and hit 9-of-16 (56%) from beyond the arc.  The Trojans were led by Adam Tonsfeldt (23 points, 4 rebounds) and Tate Inniger (9 points, 5 rebounds).  Logan Ernst and Ryan Rustad added 8 points each.  Wyatt Suter and Braeden Bredman collected 5 rebounds apiece.  Cam Heng led the team with 3 assists.

Barnesville (9-7) will host Detroit Lakes on Saturday afternoon and will close out the regular season in Glyndon against DGF on Monday night.

The Nuggets (7-10) face Pelican Rapids on Saturday afternoon in Hawley.
